Ondanks dat er op Bonaire, Saba en St. Eustatius nog geen besmette gevallen zijn in verband met de wereldwijde uitbraak van het COVID-19 (Corona) virus, vraagt dit alsnog om gepaste maatregelen en acties voor medewerkers van MHC, onze cliënten en ketenpartners.

Om de cliëntenzorg op een veilige manier zoveel mogelijk voort te zetten hebben wij de volgende maatregelen getroffen.

Verwijzingen:

Momenteel worden nieuwe verwijzingen (vanuit huisartsen e.d.) nog steeds aangenomen. Wel willen we graag het verzoek aan onze verwijzers doen terughoudend te zijn met verwijzingen die op dit moment geen urgentie hebben. Samen met de client wordt gekeken naar het best passend moment voor een intake. In het geval van een COVID-19 besmetting zullen alleen spoedgevallen aangenomen worden op het betreffende eiland.

Cliëntenzorg:

• Medewerkers van MHC werken zoveel mogelijk telefonisch.
• Als het niet telefonisch kan gaan de medewerkers op huisbezoek. Bij huisbezoeken houden onze medewerkers zich altijd aan de regels van hygiëne en ‘social distancing’.
• Cliënten worden zo min mogelijk op kantoor uitgenodigd.
• Bij het herkennen van symptomen (verkoudheidsklachten, benauwdheid en koorts) maken we dit met de client bespreekbaar en adviseren de client contact op te nemen met de huisarts/GGD.
• Groepsaangelegenheden worden tot nader orde uitgesteld (zoals praatgroepen e.d.), maar zoveel mogelijk individuele gesprekken gaan door.

• Dagbesteding is tijdelijk stopgezet. Indien noodzakelijk zal in overleg met cliënt en verwijzer naar een (tijdelijke) oplossing worden gezocht
• Nieuwe opnames zijn tijdelijk stopgezet. Indien noodzakelijk zal in overleg met cliënt en verwijzer naar een (tijdelijke) oplossing worden gezocht
• Bezoek voor cliënten zal worden beperkt. Gasten mogen niet naar de kamers van cliënten.
• De medewerkers van SNP houden nauwlettend in de gaten of de cliënten symptomen van COVID-19 vertonen.

Ketenpartners

Door toepassing van de regels van ‘social distancing’ proberen we zoveel mogelijk met onze ketenpartners telefonisch te schakelen. Medewerkers worden geadviseerd zo min mogelijk te participeren aan fysieke overleggen.

Deze maatregelen worden herzien indien de omstandigheden op de Cariben en omgeving daar aanleiding toe geven. Wij vragen iedereen de maatregelen te respecteren en deze ook te hanteren. Alleen samen kunnen wij er voor zorgen dat de nodige zorg zoveel mogelijk gecontinueerd wordt.

SAFETY MEASURES DUE TO COVID-19

Although there are no infected cases of the COVID-19 (Corona) virus on Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius, the current situation still requires appropriate measures and actions for employees, clients and stakeholders.

In order to continue client-care in a safe manner, we have taken the following measures.

References

New referrals (from GPs, etc.) are currently still being accepted. However, we would like to request our referrers to practice reservation with references that are not urgent at the moment. Client care

• MHC employees continue consultations by telephone as much as possible.

• Clients are invited to the office as little as possible.
• When recognizing symptoms (colds, shortness of breath, and fever) we discuss this with the client and advise the client to contact their GP / Public Health Department.
• Group matters are postponed until further notice (such as discussion groups, etc.).

Stakeholders

By applying the rules of social distancing, we try to remain in contact with our stakeholders by telephone as much as possible. Employees are advised to participate as little as possible in physical meetings.

These measures will be reviewed if circumstances in the Caribbean and surrounding area give cause to do so. We ask everyone to respect and apply these measures. Only together can we ensure that the necessary care is continued as much as possible.
