Bericht van Windward island manager Saba & St. Eustatius Jacco Vaders.
Wist u dat ons aanbod van geestelijke gezondheidszorg op Sint Eustatius & Saba (zoals op Bonaire) onverminderd door is blijven gaan tijdens de Corona-crisis?
Altijd aanwezig op Saba tijdens de crisis was Kim Richardson, onze verpleegkundige / maatschappelijk werkster in de gemeenschap, die de volledige controle had over alle geestelijke gezondheidszorg. Voortdurend op de achtergrond ondersteund door onze GZ-psycholoog Sanne Gruijters die haar complete therapiebereik vanuit St. Maarten online verzorgde (zelfs groepssessies!).
Op Sint Eustatius hadden we ook ons team aanwezig tijdens de Corona-crisis. Onze SPV/zorgcoördinator Jetty Constansia, maatschappelijk werker Gerda Gibbs en secretaris en assistent-verzorger Inda Jansen stonden altijd paraat. Ze werden continu ondersteund door onze GZ-psycholoog Caroline van Oost. Zij heeft, net als Sanne, ook haar complete therapieprogramma van St. Maarten online aangeboden. En ze zette zelfs haar groepssessies voort.
Onze psychiater Marise Machielsen kwam midden in de crisis helemaal vanuit Bonaire naar Saba & Sint Eustatius om ons en de gemeenschappen van de nodige medische expertise te voorzien. Met veel dank aan de openbare lichamen van Saba & St. Eustatius, de lokale ZVK-kantoren, Mw Hermans van VWS en het LCCC in Nederland.
Nu de beperkingen geleidelijk worden opgeheven door de verschillende eilanden verwachten we dat onze externe medewerkers binnenkort weer fysiek terug zullen zijn op Saba en Sint Eustatius!

Did you know our mental health care offer on St. Eustatius & Saba (as on Bonaire) continued almost unaffected by the Corona crisis?
Always present on Saba during the crisis was Kim Richardson, our community mental health nurse/social worker, completely in control of all mental health care. Supported continuously on the background by our health care psychologist Sanne Gruijters who was providing her complete scope of therapy from St. Maarten online, even group sessions.
On St. Eustatius we also had our team present during the Corona crisis. Being on top of their game were our SPV/care coordinator Jetty Constansia, social worker Gerda Gibbs, and secretary and assistant caregiver Inda Jansen. They were supported continuously by our health care psychologist Caroline van Oost. She, like Sanne, also provided her complete scope of therapy from St. Maarten online. And, she even continued her group sessions too.
Our psychiatrist Marise Machielsen came over all the way from Bonaire in the middle of the crisis to Saba & St. Eustatius to provide us and the communities with her necessary medical expertise. With many thanks to the public entities of Saba & St. Eustatius, the local ZVK offices, Miss Hermans from VWS and the LCCC in the Netherlands.
With restrictions being lifted gradually by the different islands, MHC expects our external employees to be physically back on Saba & St. Eustatius soon!
